Manchester City serve up five-star showing against Newcastle to grab advantage in title race

Leaders Manchester City are without Kyle Walker and John Stones as they host Newcastle hoping to move three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.

Neither defender could prove his fitness meaning City start with a back four of Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Oleksandr Zinchenko, the same as they finished with against Real Madrid in midweek.

Other changes made by manager Pep Guardiola see Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling replace Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez.

Newcastle are without Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock but Chris Wood and Jamaal Lascelles return. Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Fabian Schar are on the bench after recent injuries.
